Why is my LED flickering or blinking?
When an LED flickers or blinks, it often seems like a defect. However, in many cases the cause lies not with the light itself, but with the power supply or the installation.
Flickering or blinking – what's the difference?
| Flicker | Unsteady, slight fluctuations in brightness. |
| Flash | Regularly switching the light on and off. |
Possible causes
| Inappropriate dimmer | The dimmer is not suitable for LED lights. |
| Incorrect minimum load | The connected power is too low. |
| Transformer not suitable | The existing transformer is not compatible with the LED. |
| Voltage fluctuations | Irregular power supply from the grid. |
| Control or electronics | Internal components are sensitive. |
Flickering or flashing does not automatically mean that a light is defective. Often the cause can be fixed by adjusting the installation.
If there is uncertainty or if changes to the installation are necessary, a specialist should be consulted.
