Why is my LED flickering or blinking?
When an LED flickers or blinks, it often appears to be defective. In many cases, however, the cause is not the light itself, but the power supply or the installation.
Flickering or Blinking – what's the difference?
| Flickering | Uneven, slight fluctuation in brightness. |
| Blinking | Regular switching on and off of the light. |
Possible Causes
| Unsuitable dimmer | The dimmer is not suitable for LED lights. |
| Incorrect minimum load | The connected power is too low. |
| Transformer not suitable | The existing transformer is not compatible with the LED. |
| Voltage fluctuations | Irregular supply from the mains. |
| Control or electronics | Internal components are sensitive. |
Flickering or blinking does not automatically mean that a light is defective. Often, the cause can be remedied by adjusting the installation.
